At Blue Illusion, we recognise that sustainability is not a destination but an ongoing process that requires innovation, collaboration, and accountability. As we move forward, we will continue to challenge ourselves to do better: enhancing our policies, increasing the use of certified fibres, quantifying our impact, and deepening our engagement with the communities we serve.
Together with our customers, partners and stakeholders, we are building a more sustainable future, one where style, responsibility, and purpose converge. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
A Message From Our Founder
“When my late husband, Danny and I founded Blue Illusion over 32 years ago, we envisioned a brand that was more than just clothing. We wanted to create a company that celebrated the spirit of women and enriched their lives, offering products and experiences that go beyond fashion. Our vision was to build a purpose-led business that created a positive impact on the world."
- Donna Guest, Co-Founder, CEO & Creative Director
Today, we are proud to remain Australian-owned, with our team continuing to uphold these values, grounded in the pillars of Fashion, Community, and Lifestyle. As global awareness of sustainability increases, we are committed to being part of the solution, not the problem.

We segment our framework into three interconnected focus areas to deliver a meaningful impact across the business.
Charity Partnerships and Community Engagement
Our commitment to giving back goes beyond our employees and customers, extending to the broader community through partnerships, events, and donations.
Charity Partnerships
We collaborate with various charities to support causes that align with our values, addressing critical issues such as poverty, education, and health.
Community Events
Our store managers select local charities to support, fostering strong community connections. Events like fundraisers and awareness campaigns allow us to engage meaningfully and drive positive change.
Donations
Through direct donations, we contribute to vital programs and services, focusing on initiatives that address key areas of need and amplifying the efforts of our charity partners. In FY24, we donated over $200,000 to multiple organisations and over $140,000 to our charity partnership, World Vision.

We are proud to partner with World Vision on the transformative Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) initiative, a community-driven, sustainable approach to land restoration.
FMNR focuses on nurturing the natural regrowth of trees and shrubs from existing stumps, root systems, or seeds, eliminating the need for replanting. The regenerated vegetation improves soil structure and fertility, reduces erosion, retains moisture, and rehabilitates water sources such as springs and water tables. This process also promotes biodiversity, creating healthier ecosystems that support both agricultural productivity and environmental resilience.
Sustainable Packaging
As an active member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), we are committed to transparent reporting and continuous improvement in packaging sustainability. Through adherence to APCO standards, we have diverted packaging waste from landfill and remain on track to achieve 100% Reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging by FY25. This initiative fosters a circular economy and promoting responsible consumption practices.
Shopping Bags
Our shopping bags are crafted from recycled FSC-certified paper,
sourced from sustainably managed forests. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we are transitioning from fabric handles to paper handles by FY25, ensuring 100%
recyclability across all bags.
Garment Bags
For apparel, we use biodegradable cornstarch garment bags, which break down naturally without harming ecosystems. For non-apparel items, we prioritise recycled plastic, helping to reduce plastic waste and support a circular economy.

We are proud to partner with Upparel, an Australian leader in circular apparel solutions. This collaboration supports our efforts to close the loop in textile waste management. Through Upparel’s expertise in recycling, repurposing, and reselling clothing, we reduce waste, extend the lifecycle of our products, and lower their environmental footprint. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward a circular fashion industry that prioritises sustainability and resource efficiency.
Future Goals
Looking ahead, we have identified key areas for improvement and innovation:
- Quantifying Impact: We aim to deliver more comprehensive data on the environmental and social outcomes of our initiatives, fostering greater transparency and accountability.
- Enhanced Factory Audits: By providing detailed insights into factory audits, including findings and improvements, we seek to strengthen trust and responsibility across our supply chain.
- Certified Fabrics: Expanding the use of certified materials, such as GOTS-certified cotton and other sustainable options, will ensure higher standards of environmental and social responsibility.
- Circular Ecomony Practices: We plan to explore new opportunities to minimise waste and maximise resource efficiency by adopting more circular design and production methods.
- Innovation in Materials: Continuing to research and trial innovative sustainable materials will help us reduce our ecological footprint further.
